With 4 GB RAM there is no way you can run a base Windows 8, VMware workstation and ESXi and Windows 7 machines on it.
For your setup i would say you need a base host with min 8GB RAM and a i5 processor. Even with this config you will see slowness. ESXi alone needs min of 4GB RAM to work.
