ML370 G5 multiple logical units can not create datastore. Blank machine, testing no production data

Hello.

I have a ML370 G5 server.  My goal, is to migrate off one machine i have to this server.

it has 4 72 gig drives in it, and i plan on adding more, so for testing purposes, i created 2 logical units.  (It has 4 disks in it now) (p400 controller)

Each logical unit comes out as 63 gigs, raid1.  My test here is to be able to add a second logical unit to the sever when i am able to get 4 more drives.

I created 1 datastore, and then attempted to create the second data store, and i get an error which i will post at the end of the post.

I also created 3 logical drives. to see if it was something with the partitions, and i was only able to still mount one logical drive.

Call "HostDatastoreSystem.QueryVmfsDatastoreCreateOptions" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESXi "10.0.0.87" failed.

is the error i get when i go to add a datastore.  There are no other datastores on the server.

If i make 1 logical drive out of the 4, it works.  It seems to be an issue when there is more than 1 logical unit.
