We have an older G6 HP server, and are buying a newer G9 server. I would like to run the Server 2012 OS as a virtual machine so that we can use the older server hardware as a backup server. To keep the cost down, I would like to know if this is possible?
Have both servers running Windows 7 Pro as the Host OS, and then VMWare Workstation 10 with Sever 2012 as the OS. Do you loose any hardware functionality by running Win 7 instead of a Win Server* OS?
Also, can you use a VMWare WS OS as the domain controller?
