Oh man. I have to say I am both happy and sad I found this post. Like J45p3rand you MightQuinn, I have been having this same exact issue since January. I have worked with Drobo on this and gone through with them and VMware on this issue
and back and forth. VMware finds nothing wrong and Drobo is stumped. I just went through a Controller Card replacement with them but still have the disconnect issues after replacement.
I have gone through pretty much all the things you have done here, along with picking up a Jumbo Frame switch, Port binding config, I have all 3 ISCSI ports on the Drobo connected to this switch along with 2 nics per host (2 Host) connected
to this same segregated physical switch, all running at 9000 MTU.
This is totally a Drobo Issue and I just don't believe they will admit its them.
I am going to keep fighting with it, but I also wanted to chime in and let you know that you are not alone. And with the amount of time Drobo takes to respond, it seems this will never
be solved.
