actually, i don't know why p2v conversion stops at 97% during your using vmware converter standalone, but i wanna to share another way for P2V, that is third party software AOMEI Backupper, it has a feature called universal restore which is available for p2p, p2v, v2p. really works well as i have tried it. (ps: if you sre server user, Server version is ok.)
