There are many many possible causes for a VM crash, ranging from hardware problems to host OS problems to bugs in Workstation or compatibility issues with 3rd-party software or drivers. We'll need more information to be able to determine the cause and workarounds.
To get started with troubleshooting, go into the directory which contains the virtual machine, find the log files named vmware.log, vmware-1.log, vmware-2.log and so on, and upload them here as an attachment. (Please don't copy-and-paste... compose a reply and look for the Browse... button above the Post Message button, and use that to select the files.)
