OK, I'm testing a VM 2012 R2 server and want to add the "VMCI Guest Introspection", I've already installed the tools and just need to add it. I need to mount the VMtools iso to the CD/DVD of my VM.
The official method per VMware is found here: VMware vSphere 5.1
Procedure
1 Start the vSphere Web Client and log in to the vCenter Server.
2 Select the virtual machines.
a Select a datacenter, folder, cluster, resource pool, or host.
b Click the Related Objects tab, and click Virtual Machines.
3 Power on the virtual machines to upgrade.
4 Right-click your selections.
5 Select All vCenter Actions > Guest OS > Install/Upgrade VMware Tools and click OK.
6 Select Interactive Upgrade or Automatic Upgrade and click Upgrade.
7 If you chose the interactive upgrade for a virtual machine with a Linux guest operating system, reboot the operating system by running the reboot command from a command-line prompt so that you can use the new network modules.
However, when I follow those instructions I get all the selections greyed out...
So I figured I might not have the rights........doubt it.
So I logged in as administrator@vsphere.local and I get the same thing.
How can I do this from the Web Client?
.......and yes, it can be done from the thick client, like my other posts, I'm trying my damndest to work from the web client and from where I stand at this point, it's not ready for prime time.
Thanks
