The CAFE catalog items are stored in the Postgres database on the vCAC Appliance, not within IaaS. I find it a lot more sketchy having to touch the Postgres db than the SQL one (even though, in general, I don't want to make any sort of queries / cleanup ops direct on a database as a matter of principle), so my recommendation would be to open an SR and work with support. They should be able to assist in a way that isn't completely unsupported.
