Our organization is finally moving from ThinApp 4.x to 5.x.
For 3.x and 4.x, we used to create a "portable" unpacked version of ThinApp by copying the "installed" directory of ThinApp into a temporary directory using a mock app install, after which we then copied the "installed" directory of ThinApp over the original install to create a portable version of ThinApp. We then use this portable version of ThinApp in a completely untouched Virtual Machine to create our apps. We have had good experience with this approach because it creates the "cleanest" baseline.
With 5.x, we just found out we could no longer do that. When we tried to do this in the Dialog Window to save the project during a mock install, I could no longer copy the "installed" directory of ThinApp to create an unpack version. The ThinApp client just crashes when we try to repeat this trick.
Can someone please help?
