That used to be my motto with vCenter v4 to v5.1. It was an expendable service and would just rebuild. It was always quicker. Since 6.0, we've had few problems until recently and are now are having nothing but issues.
Another fly in the ointment is the fact that in two of our vCenters, we have VMware Horizon integrated. Apparently rebuilding vCenter isn't a desired option. At least not without a ton of work rebuilding and re-attaching persistent disks.
